Starting the Chennai photo quiz
Well, ive been in Chennai for two and a half years now, and im fascinated by the city. Most of all, because of the treasures that lay hidden away from the eyes of the common man on the street. It takes more than an adventurous spirit to unearth the little tidbits of Chennai’s glorious past when it used to be called Madras. It takes some courage, some patience and a good supply of energy to overcome all that this south Indian city throws up at you.
Armed with my overused but trusty cybershot, ive seen and captured a lot more in my time here than the native madrasi has. I shall post pictures of objects or landmarks that most of you would have come across at some point, but would never have taken notice of. And maybe, in the process, realise that Chennai has a lot more than that meets the eye.
Given the response i am getting, i think its time we have some guidelines for this to work smoothly:
- Make only one guess. Or i’ll just consider the last one you made
- I wont reveal the answer untill there are two or more correct guesses already. This is to give others a shot too.
- If you have evidence to support your answer state it, or if possible post link to similiar pics from flickr/anywhere. The idea is to make you explore a bit too, not just guess.
- Its quite possible that if you are interested in this quiz, that you too have some interesting photos to share. I dont want to limit this just to this one blog, feel free to branch the quiz off to your blog by posting a link in the previous question. Let it be like a chain that links different blogs/sites/whatever. Letting us all see the city through different people.
