The cheap quota @ the movies

Chennai probably has the cheapest luxury movie tickets in the world, courtesy of the Tamil Nadu government. Thanks to a recent order, the maximum price of any multiplex movie ticket cannot exceed Rs 120. What makes it even better is the rule that says 5% of the seats should be priced at Rs 10!

Tell me another city on earth where you can enjoy a movie at a multiplex for 25cents, and i will eat my socks.

The downside to this however is if you stay close to such a multiplex. So tomorrow, I have to get my ass down to Inox and join the rat queue at 6am to get the tix for the afternoon show 😦 If only me and my friends werent so cheap, id enjoy some decent sleep today.

    slighta, you don’t e-book tickets? :/
the 10 buck seats rock if you have nowhere to go and want very badly to sleep. if you intend watching the movie, however, they’re painful! 😦 *remembers stubborn neck twist*

Just found this old post of yours…I spent three years at satyam’s 10 rs counter (and eventually INOX’s as well). We were there almost every weekend – it was the only religion in college that everyone followed. Sore necks every week were the norm. Out of curiosity, have you ever tried doubling? (seeing two 10 rs films back to back?) Dont.

ho ho ho, im staying a full 10 metres from those seats after trying it out once.

definetely not worth a neck surgery.
